Code of Conduct in Saint Fergals BNS

Code of Behaviour

Aims: To Promote positive behaviour and allow the school to function in an orderly and harmonious manner .

To enhance the Learning Environment where children can make progress in all aspects of their environment .

1. School starts at 9 o'clock and finishes at 2.40 p.m. Each child is expected to attend school on a regular basis and be punctual. A note of explanation of any absences should be supplied to the class teacher .

2. Each pupil is expected to be well behaved and to show consideration for other children and teachers. Bullying, cheek , bad language and rough play will not be tolerated.

3. Each child is expected to show respecy for the property of the school , other children's property and their own belongings.

4. Each child is expected to do his best in school with his homework.

5. School uniforms should be worn as requested . Please note that no P.E. classes take place on Mondays , so all pupils should have their uniforms on that day. School tracksuits should be worn on P.E. days.

6. Pupils chosen for school teams, choir etc. are expected to give such activities their full commitment .

7. A pupil will not be permitted to leave the school during the day without a written request from hias parent/guardian or a request by a parent/guardian by phone.

8. Parents are asked to check your son's journal regularly and sign as requested.

9. Earrings are not allowed.

10. Switched on mobile phones are not allowed.

11. Unacceptable behaviour will be dealt with in the following manner:

(a) Reasoning with pupils

(b) Reprimand -including advice on how to behave

(c) Temporary separation from peers

(d) Loss of privileges

(e) Detention during break or after school hours

(f) Prescribing additional work

(g) Referral to Principal Teacher

(h) Communication with Parents , Suspension , Expulsion

Each Parent/Guardian/Pupil is expected to read and comply with what is requested in the School Policy
