 GREEN FLAG NEWS........................

LUNCHES: As part of the process of achieving our green flag ststus we had a look at reducing our waste in the school. Our Committee came to the conclusion that most of the waste was being generated by our lunches . A couple of weeks ago Mr.Kennedy gave every boy a form to fill in . The boys were able to choose exactly what they would like for their lunches . This has proved very successful.

We no longer have crates of food left over and we have also reduced the amount of waste all the packaging was causing. Every boy brings home their waste , their milk cartons and food they don't eat in their new lunch boxes. We can't believe the difference this has made to the school's waste . Keep up the good work boys!!

Stamps:

Just to remind you that we are also collecting all your used stamps. Each class has a stamp  box in it and we need to fill them up with your stamps. By doing so we are achieving another of our aims which is re-using materials . All your used stamps help to save the bogs in Ireland. There will also be a prize at the end of May for the class with the most stamps. Get collecting boys!

Spring Clean :

We hope to hold a Spring cleaning week commencing on the 20th. of April. Each class will be given an opportunity to participate in the clean up.

Wanted:

Each class in the school collects up their water bottles to be recycled . You can just imagine just how many we collect each week . We need you the parents to help bring them to the recycling centre . If you are available to help please let us know .

Trees:

The school will be receiving 30 new trees from the Trees for Schools Project. We are delighted with this and they will be planted all over the school .

Ms. Niamh Forristal is co-ordinator and assisted by Ms.Jane O'Shaughnessy (3rd. Class Teacher ) and Ms. Debbie O'Kane from the Parents Committee.
