The Spring Book Fair will be held on Thursday and Friday 18th. & 19th. March .

Many thanks to all the pupils,  parents and teachers  who helped out at the recent bag packing in Dunnes Stores . 1384 euro was collected !

St.Fergals Parents Committee has organised bag packing once again in Dunnes Stores , Cardiffsbridge Road on Thursday 11th. and Friday 12th. March . The committee is looking for volunteers to help out between 10 am -7 pm on both days.

The term Staff meeting will be held on Tuesday next . pupils will go home at 12.30 . School will reopen after mid-term break on Monday February 22nd.

Many thanks to all who supported our bag-packing days in Dunnes Stores .We raised a total of 1080euro . Well done to all !

Thanks in particular to the parents and teachers who turned up and helped out. It must be said that the turnout by parents was most disappointing. Hopefully better next time !

Congratulations and Well done to all the boys in Ms. Flynn's class (6th) who  did so well in their entrance tests to their 2nd. level schools  recently.We are very proud of your achievements .

6th. Class Parents please note that the date for Confirmation has been changed to Thursday June 3rd.2010. Time to be confirmed.

Parent -Teacher meetings will take place in the school on Monday (8th.) Tuesday (9th.) and Wednesday (10th.) of February 2010 . All pupils have been issued with their Parents/Guardians time .

Please support our bag packing fundraiser in Dunnes Stores which has been organised by the Parents Committee .

3 new interactive whiteboards have been installed in rooms 6 ,8 and 13 which will add immensely to the education of our pupils.

01.02.10. Many thanks to all who supported the Jersey Day/No Uniform day last Friday in aid of Haiti . The school raised a total of 424 euro which has been forwarded to GOAL.

13.01.10: Swimming lessons for 4th. class will begin on Friday January 22nd.

12.01.10 : Saint Fergals  BNS  reopened today Wednesday January 13th. at 9 a.m.

 The planned Parent /Teacher meetings for Thursday January 14th. have been deferred until further notice .(see above)

Minister for Education announces school closures. Click here for statement .

School Closure

The Board of Management has decided , due to health and safety reasons arising from the inclement weather  , that the school will be closed tomorrow Friday January 8th. 2010.It is hoped to re-open onThursday  January 14th. (Weather permitting) in light of the directive of the Minister for Education . To view statement please click on link above.

New Security Arrangements

As and from Monday December 14th. 2009 new access control measures will be in place in the school. These measures are being put in place , not only as a security measure but also to protect the pupils and staff in the school. Whilst these measures may cause some inconvenience it is envisaged that they will go someway towards  ensuring  the safety of all in the school.

All visitors etc. may only gain access to  the school via the voice/video link at the main front door entrance .

ICT GRANT FOR SCHOOL

We have received a grant for ICT infrastructure from the Department of Education and Science for 6611.78 euro . This must be used to ensure that each classroom is supplied with a Pc /mouse/ projector /interactive whiteboard.

Our Annual Sale of Work takes place in the hall on Friday December 11th.. All contributions (toys, books, bric ?a brac etc. )for this will be gratefully accepted .(Non-perishable items only)

Art Winners

Congratulations to Robert Bell (6^th. Class ) whose Art poster was selected for the re-opening campaign for X-IT  Dept Store (Farmers Market ) which was launched on the 17^th. Of November by Senator Fergal  Quinn . Click on link for pics ....this will lead you away from this site.

An RTE Camera crew were in 6^th. Class recently and the programme will be aired in January 2010. The date and time will be confirmed at a later  stage .

Congratulations also to Sean McDermott (6^th. Class ) whose art work has been selected to be included in the Dublin Bus Calendar 2010 . Sean will be presented with his prize in a ceremony in   Pearse  St. Library next Monday .

Mobile Phones

Again I want to remind you that we are collecting used mobile phones (without SIM cards) . This  is in conjunction with the Jack & Jill Foundation Interactive Whiteboards for schools initiative . Please ask your family , friends etc for their used mobiles .

School Painting Project

If you have visited the school recently you may have noticed the painting project that is underway at  present .  This , I hope , will lead to a more colourful and pleasant atmosphere within the school. In order to continue and fund this project (the school has to pay for the paint  ) I would ask you to support the various  fundraising projects which we will have during the year.
